Newton County  is a rough rugged beautiful place but it was hard to make a living on this land in the 1950's.  Like so many people in Newton County my family moved to Kansas City but retained the acreage that had been in my family for over 100 years.
Last summer I purchased another property from a cousin and completely remodeled the interior.  The Coffey place is named after Carl and Opal Coffey who built the house in the 1940's.
I feel fortunate to have been able to build my artist retreat in this beautiful place and also to be able to share the tranquility and splendor with visitors to my three vacation rentals.

Its peaceful and tranquil here on Mt Sherman close to the Buffalo River that flows freely.
